You can zoom in on the map to see exactly where you are going to take your pictures from. So let's say you want Mt Jefferson in the lower right corner of your photo, you would click on the spot on the satellite map and then set the time of the eclipse and you would see where the sun would be in the sky in reference to Mt Jefferson. The thin yellow line over Mt Jefferson if the position of the sun for 10:12 am on the day of the eclipse. Here is a screenshot from Photopills on my phone which shows the planner function where you see the exact path of the sun at a certain time from any location you choose Unfortunately we will be up in Alaska hiking and are going to miss it. There are apps like Photopills and The Photographer's Ephemeris where you can plan where you are going to be during the eclipse to capture the landscape background you want included in your shot.
